Our agency has been based in the heart of Maasland, a beautiful village near Rotterdam and Delft, since 1982. Anyone can draw a nice house, right? Indeed anyone can. But not designing a house in which all your wishes are translated into an integrally feasible design. A client of ours once said; \"it is actually told far too little: a good architect comes up with exactly what you want but cannot come up with yourself.\"<\/p>

Because the architect created the design, he knows it like no other. He can therefore play a coordinating role, direct the building project, act as an advisor and confidant, in short, play a central role in the entire building and remodelling process.<\/p>

B\u00f6htlingk Architecture has over 40 years of experience in designing, elaborating and supervising residential and commercial construction. The firm consists of a small flexible team of all-round employees. You can come to us for small requests, but also for large-scale plans. Besides the design and technical elaboration, we supervise the entire permit process from zoning plan to usage permit. We make calculations for the environmental permit, EP-W\/U (energy labels), MPG (environmental performance), ventilation, daylight and Rc\/U value (insulation).<\/p>

As an all-round agency, we can also serve you with loose advice. A chat with the architect, possibly on location, about the possibilities and impossibilities. More is often possible than you think. Separate technical advice ranging from: an analysis of a moisture problem, advice on buying\/renovating a house, advice on an environmental permit. You can also come to us for advice on sustainability, ventilation and daylight. We also provide energy labels for both residential and non-residential buildings.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

All our projects are started with a no-obligation initial consultation. If you decide to proceed with us, the work is broken down into manageable pieces and discounted. So there are no nasty surprises during the process.<\/span><\/p>

Method of drawing and elaboration<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

We elaborate almost all projects in a building model (Autodesk Revit). We start doing this as early as the design phase. Calculations are made from this model (DGMR software) and decisions are recorded in it that determine the costs for the entire cycle. These tools allow us, as generalists, to steer the influence of design decisions towards our client's wishes. In addition, working in a model enables BIM mixing. This involves various parties working together in the building model to optimise the construction process and the end result.<\/p>

Collaboration\/integrated design<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Construction can sometimes be very complex. Collaboration is the key word to curb this complexity. We therefore use consultants in the fields of cost control, structures and installations. We regularly work with\u00a0\u00a0Multical bv<\/a> for cost control, Gold stitcher de Vries<\/a>, Daenen consultancy firm<\/a> and Deja building consultancy<\/a> For constructions, Techniplan<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0DGMR<\/a>\u00a0for installations and building physics. Good cooperation between the various disciplines at an early stage results in an integral design that incorporates all aspects. A design that best answers the client's requirements.<\/p>

As architects, we are engaged in many areas that we see as an inseparable part of our work.<\/i><\/p>

Product development.<\/strong> Thinking along and coming up with the smallest components for structures ourselves is an essential part of our work. We continue to invest in developing inventive and sustainable material applications in cooperation with suppliers.<\/p>

Facade system.<\/strong> In our first project in 1982, the employment agency<\/a> Oud-Beijerland, we developed a new fa\u00e7ade system based on the Vergeer frame. By slightly oversizing the wooden posts, space was created within the depth of the fa\u00e7ade package for the steel support structure, heating, piping, electricity and interior and exterior lighting.<\/i><\/p>

Choice frame.<\/em><\/strong> The 1993 Choice Frame, a product development with Jaap de Koning, builds on the employment agency's fa\u00e7ade system and was developed into a prototype. The idea is that homeowners can change the facade themselves by buying individual components from the hardware store.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sponning brick.<\/strong> In 2005, a special sponge brick was developed for the Rabobank Westland that is used in a half-brick bond. A seemingly simple building material like a brick thus produces a sophisticated structure in the fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Floriade roof.<\/strong> At BVB Substrates' pavilion at Floriade 2012, we had the composite roof filled with various soil types and processed as a visible sample of products.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Warm concrete.<\/strong> With some regularity, we are invited to collaborate with manufacturers in the development of products. A good example is our current collaboration on a pavilion in \"warm concrete\"; a monolithic building material made of ultra-light concrete. The challenge is to investigate the shape potential of the material and the possibility of creating a frameless window frame in the cavity-free facade of warm concrete. As a member of Booosting (platform for building innovation), we are working on this in an architectural team.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Interior.<\/strong>Interior and exterior are connected. Designing also usually starts from the inside. At Rabobank Westland, we designed not only the building but also the interior, even down to the wall lamps where the word \"give light\" serves as a grid. In addition, the mobile meeting rooms in the atrium were also designed by us.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

area development \/ image quality.<\/strong> What starts with a client's simple wish for a new building can lead to complicated and lengthy government procedures. After all, spatial planning is a complex matter that requires good cooperation between various parties. Our role in this is to consult with various authorities (municipality, province, water board) and to guide the zoning plan with, for example, a visual quality plan. The image quality plan defines the architectural ambition level of the buildings and their surroundings.
